Abstract

The chapter deals with the role of the Shi‘ite intellectuals within the Shi‘ite leadership in Lebanon during the era of the Zu‘ama. The chapter focuses on prominent intellectuals during the relevant era: Muhammad Jawad Mughniya, Ahmed Rida, Muhammad Jaber, Suleiman Dhaher and Kamal Muruwa.
