Abstract
As a final thought, this chapter reiterates the importance of researching the issue of internalised racism, which is very much understudied, particularly in critical literary research representing the province of children’s and young adult literature. It re-emphasises the role of literary texts as a new collective history, and as an essential tool to balance the master narratives and to alter the dominant discourse. The chapter also stresses the possibility and the key role Critical Race Theory can play in transforming the literary landscape.
