Abstract
Breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed in the United States. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most sensitive modality for evaluating implant integrity. MRI also has the potential to detect breast cancer in women with implants. This chapter reviews the use of breast MRI in women with implants for identification of implant rupture and breast cancer detection. Implant imaging pitfalls as well as future MRI techniques and sequences for evaluating breast implants will also be addressed.
