Organizational Value of Business Process Modeling

Quality in Business Process Modeling

Abstract

Many traditional applications of modeling are limited to one usage area. On the other hand, as also indicated in Chap. 1 and discussed relative to the case studies presented in Chap. 4, the fuller long-term effects of modeling in and across organizations can be observed when one uses models over a longer period of time, or across various usage areas. To better understand this, in this chapter we present a framework for ensuring the organizational value of process modeling, herein avoiding some of the potential pitfalls of model reuse.
