Abstract
A new future will need to include more creative and widespread use of biomimicry. Biomimetics or biomimicry is the imitation of the models, systems, and elements of nature for the purpose of solving complex human problems. The terms biomimetics and biomimicry come from Ancient Greek derivation, including bios, life, mīmēsis, imitation, mīmeisthai, to imitate, and from mimos, actor. At the center of the action is the fact that living organisms have evolved well-adapted structures and materials over geological time through natural selection and biomimetics has given rise to new technologies inspired by biological solutions at macro and nanoscales.
