Abstract

The different terms on which Christian and Jewish women, including Millicent Fawcett, Constance Rothschild and Beatrice Webb, collaborated in charitable organisations and social work: the formalities of prayer; organisations for the ‘protection’ of women and girls; the goals of the National Council of Women and the Union of Jewish Women.
