Abstract
This chapter reviews the fabrication and operation of a Si bulk p–n homojunction -structured LED [1]. Spontaneous emission of visible light takes places based on the principle described in Sect. 1.3.1 because the emitted photon energy is higher than \({{E}_{g}}\) of Si.
