Abstract
The authors discuss the characteristics of a possible way of approaching the complexity of Human Diversity for the purpose of design, implementation and communication, within the cultural framework of inclusive and participatory design; a way which they have experimented and tested, during the European development of the theme “Active Aging”, with a quite diverse cluster of actors which has been created to represent the abilities-necessities-aspirations of the elderly and the various parties involved in the construction and management of housing for the elderly. The authors, after years of practice, were also interested in understanding why some actors are not using the vast work produced worldwide in the field in the lasts decades nor are they familiar with it, and focused on building an easy multilevel approach, in which each level bears its own efficacy, in the attempt to engage those who might be interested but, for various reasons, are not on board yet.

Acknowledgments
Writing this paper proved to be an opportunity for interesting and enjoyable discussions with several people who are interested in Design for All implementation and development. We sincerely thank all of them for their support, and in particular:
• the team of Confartigianato Vicenza, who has coordinated the “Fatto Apposta” project: Christian Caleari, Andrea Schiavo (coordinator Home System), Nicola Carrarini ANAP coordinator (national association for the elderly and retired) and Diana De Tomaso (consultant psychologist);
• the Officials of Azienda Socio Sanitaria ULSS 6 who provided the helth and medical related support at the project;
• the entrepreneurs, the architects, the surveyors, the health-social workers, who have actively participated at “Fatto Apposta” for the active and cross-examination discussions and the relevant cases brought to the group;
• the students of the course “Design for All”, Scuola del Design, Politecnico di Milano, and especially Gregorio Stano, for the researches thay have done;
• all the persons, the academics and the elderly who listened critically to our ideas leading us on a better path.
