Abstract

If it’s true that human nature is more collaborative and more oriented to the common good than has been assumed and if it’s true that many organizations, and by extension their management, exhibit dysfunction, fall short of serving the common good and achieving their own potential, the essential question is why does this circumstance exist? This book seeks to make the case that both of these conditional statements are true and that this apparent paradox is real. The epilogue attempts to answer this final question.
