Abstract
The eye is a paired organ, located in the bony orbit. It is a sensory organ that can detect light photons and convert them to nerve impulses that are sent to and processed in the brain as vision. The eye is a complex organ consisting of several of parts that are further subdivided into several layers. Furthermore, there are certain structures responsible for the refraction and intraocular pressure. The retina with the photoreceptors and ten layers is the most complex part.
