Abstract
In order for a patient to be considered for weight-loss surgery, they must be evaluated by a multidisciplinary team. Surgical, medical, psychiatric, and nutritional experts perform thorough evaluations prior to surgery. Clearance from all these specialties optimizes results in weight loss, while providing the safest scenario for the patient perioperatively, postoperatively, and long term.
