Abstract
Ocular and periocular tumors are uncommon in all species; when present they have severe consequences for vision and quality of life. Ocular tumors rarely metastasize to the regional lymph nodes or distant organs. However, particularly feline ocular tumors may have an invasive growth pattern into adjacent structures in the orbita. Surgery is the treatment of choice for all ocular and periocular tumors, while radiotherapy and chemotherapy are of minor importance. Melanomas, squamous cell carcinomas, and feline ocular posttraumatic sarcomas are the most common (peri)ocular tumors in veterinary oncology.
