Neoplastic and Nonneoplastic Disease of the Bladder

Abstract

The bladder is an abdominal organ which can be easily evaluated with ultrasound scan, and with an adequate bladder filling, most neoplastic and nonneoplastic bladder diseases are usually well shown and differentiated by means of ultrasound. In bladder cancer, although ultrasound is not a primary imaging modality for staging, it provides baseline information regarding depth of tumor invasion. A proper bladder evaluation and the use of new technical device are extremely helpful in improving sensitivity and specificity of this simple and noninvasive technology.
