Abstract
The considerations of the last section of the last chapter concerning canonical transformations reveal such a manifold of transformation possibilities that it should in fact be possible to construct by it efficient general methods for the solution of mechanical problems We therefore investigate now which way a Hamilton function H has to be transformed in order to make the solution of the physical problem as simple as possible, may be even trivial.
