Abstract
Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia may be associated to various degrees of development of pulmonary arteries. Their size is the key issue in the prognosis and treatment of this disease. In subjects with hypoplastic pulmonary arteries, surgical options include implantation of a modified Blalock–Taussig shunt or of a right ventricular outflow tract conduit. We have developed a hybrid approach for cases where the surgical alternatives are not available.
