Abstract
Brandes, Randall, and Leach-Steffens discuss service-learning as a high-impact practice including the theoretical underpinning such as Fink and Bloom’s taxonomy. Discussion includes the service-learning project designed for a Family and Consumer Sciences course, Family Systems and Resource Management, including team creation and community agency placement using the management model and designing the project working backwards and learning objectives for students. Finally, they discuss the elements of high-impact practices and how they are embedded into the course/project.
