Abstract
Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) is a neuroendocrine tumor arising from the neural crest parafollicular, or C-cells, of the thyroid. MTC is much less common than differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), representing less than 5 % of thyroid malignancies diagnosed and has not had the same increase in incidence noted for DTC over the past decade.
