The New Space Race

This chapter is an overview to the topic of the changing nature of international space exploration and what drives countries to explore space in the post Space Race environment as well as which countries have entered the space age. Additionally, the chapter outlines the overreaching concept that space exploration is largely determined by political goals within an international framework. Finally, the American space program’s goals of today and where it is headed in the future is identified.
