Abstract
There is general agreement that the ability of the brain to maintain normal cognitive function is dependent on optimal blood flow delivery to brain cells. The brain needs nutrients to carry out normal neurometabolism, neurotransmission, cognitive tasks, and conscious awareness. Lacking nutrients from insufficient cerebral blood flow results in a subnormal cerebral state vulnerable to neurodegeneration and dementia. This is a biological fact that is uncontestable.
