TransOral Robotic Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Abstract

Future treatment options for OSA are in a state of rapid evolution. The role of CPAP remains the foundation; however many innovations, both nonsurgical and surgical, are expanding options for patients. TORS offers a new surgical modality to affect changes in tongue base obstruction. TORS for OSA is the final step in a comprehensive assessment of patient anatomy, comorbidities, and expectations. The intent of this chapter is to outline specific areas where future work will lead to the final evolution of multilevel treatment for OSA.
