Abstract
The global burden of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is considerable and increasing. In Europe, at least 40.5 million people are affected. This review gives an overview of the key European guidelines on the management of PAD, highlighting areas of uncertainty where rapid advances and further research are occurring.
