Abstract

Following the murder of 20 school children and 6 staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, by a 20-year-old man with significant mental health issues, Wayne Lapierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association (NRA), stated: “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” His solution was predictable: Arm school staff throughout the country.
