Abstract
What an amazing opportunity I was given by the editor of this volume; I am so grateful for this chance to reflect upon my own journey as an academic, and as a learning designer and educational technologist. I hope that this view of the thorns and roses in my path to becoming an educational technologist enable the reader to examine what has made him or her a better, stronger professional.
