Strengthening social capital requires understanding how settings (e.g., social networks, sense of community) can foster support for individuals. Strategies for increasing social capital are described, including creating new social networks, linking individuals to existing networks, and enhancing existing networks, as well as building individuals’ capacity to link with networks.
