Abstract
Since 1956, the Comparative Education Society (CES), and then Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), has worked to increase "the understanding of educational issues, trends and policies through comparative, cross-cultural and international perspectives."1 One way CIES promotes excellence in the field is through six awards that reflect the commitment of the Society to honor the achievements of its members. These awards honor multiple forms of scholarship, from the best article in the Comparative Education Review (CER), to sustained accomplishments of long-standing members of DES, an outstanding dissertation, and research in any refereed journal or a book.
