Abstract
Reflecting on the Society’s first ten years, William W. Brickman noted that the Board of Directors had included “truly international” representtatives from countries including Switzerland, England, and Chile. At the same time, he contrasted this to the domesticity of the Society’s elected leadership, which he attributed to the expense of attending meetings in the United States and the formation of the Comparative Education Society in Europe five years earlier (Brickman 1966, 11).
