The U.S. is authorized five Representatives (based upon the level of dues the U.S. pays), a variable number Member-at-Large positions (based upon the vote of the General Assembly) and has always had one additional member of the Bureau in the General Assembly. The Members-at-Large initially were referred to as Elected or Personal Members. In 1950, a new policy restricted the number of elected members, but introduced a new class of members who were Representatives from the Adhering countries. The listing of the U.S. members of the IUTAM General Assembly in Appendix G is based on the IUTAM Annual Reports. In the listing, Bureau Members are denoted as follows: T - Treasurer, P - President, V - Vice-President, B -Bureau Member, HP - Honorary President.
