Abstract

Software defined network (SDN) and network virtualization have been considered as promising technologies that relieve the rigid network problem. Most of current research efforts in SDN and network virtualization focus on wired network, but only limited work has been done on extending the technologies to wireless area. In this paper, we design an architecture of software defined wireless network (SDWN) based on MobileFlow forwarding engine (MFFE). Accordingly, we propose an algorithm based on virtual mapping, which reconciles wireless network and system model by introducing expansion coefficient. Benefitting from resource topological perception, our scheme introduces community division, which improves the efficiency and reliability of virtual network mapping. Extensive wireless-oriented simulation shows the feasibility of wireless network virtualization based on SDN.
