Abstract
In this chapter we describe some basic turbulent flows in detail, where the turbulence is generated by shear. These flows can be divided into two categories.

For: \(u(y) = u_0(y/R)^{1/n}\) we find for a pipe flow that: \(U_b/u_0 = \frac{2n^2}{(2n+1)(n+1)}\).
