Abstract
Based on the cases studied in this book, Larsen, in this concluding chapter, discusses the characteristic features of contemporary legitimation work in the culture sector. He discusses how the organizations relate to different audience groups in their performances of legitimacy, and how this plays out in the public sphere. The chapter ends in a discussion of the theoretical implications of the cultural approach to organizational legitimacy presented in the book.
