Abstract
In this article we consider the tail for methods of loss reserving that are based on development patterns. These include all methods that are subject to the Bornhuetter–Ferguson principle, especially the Bornhuetter–Ferguson method, the loss development method, the chain ladder method, the Cape Cod method, the additive method and the panning method.
