Abstract

Personality disorders (PDs) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are heterogeneous, poorly understood disorders that impede development, social functioning, and quality of life. We discuss clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic issues and compare clinical picture, etiology, and impact of these disorders, discouraging fatalism and therapeutic nihilism.
