Abstract
Critical infrastructures are essential systems for the continuous functioning of modern society. These infrastructures are closely linked and dependent on one another, and these interdependencies need to be modeled in order to analyze the disruptions and vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure networks as a whole. In this study, a Leontief input-output (I/O) model and a critical infrastructure network system model will be developed. The I/O model serves to describe the interdependencies among the critical infrastructure systems while a critical infrastructure network will describe the network structure of a real physical infrastructure network of concern. An infrastructure network of Singapore is constructed to exhibit the use of network analysis with the I/O model. The study aims to create a general framework for economic impact studies that can be used in any country with a national I/O table and the network structure of a critical infrastructure of concern. This framework can ultimately provide insights to the fragility of the economic system to various forms of disruption and provide guidance to policymakers.
