Abstract
Coaching is a multi-step process and the first steps include the initial contact, intake process, and the first session. This chapter provides an overview of recruiting, initiating services, the first coaching conversation, the intake process, and the first session. Chapter 5 provides detailed information on creating an intake packet, a coaching agreement, and a sample intake form. Readers will have an understanding of building a coaching relationship and beginning a coaching session.
