Abstract
In this book, we investigate a particular application of wireless sensor networks: structural health monitoring. In this book, we first give a review on existing WSN-based SHM systems, and then introduce our hardware design and software design of WSN-based platform called SenetSHM. Afterward, we address three important aspects that we believe are important when designing a WSN-based SHM system: how to realize event-triggered wakeup, how to implement centralized SHM algorithms within a WSN, and how to address the fault tolerance problem in a WSN-based SHM system. We believe the methods and techniques proposed in this book can serve as a guideline for more applications like SHM.
