Abstract

This paper reviews transport appraisal methods in use. Presents the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods: Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) and Multi-criteria Analysis (MCA). Paper provides an overview of methods of multi-criteria analysis and identifies their strengths and weaknesses. A key element of the work is to propose a set of criteria that can be defined, quantitatively or qualitatively through various indicators and parameters. Based on a review of literature, constructed an array of sample criteria, in the form of benefits for investment in the transport sector.
