Abstract

In this chapter, the author relates through a number of experiences the personal challenges faced by geriatricians. Starting with a situation that occurred while he was a geriatric fellow, he ultimately discusses being investigated by the OIG (Office of Inspector General). Understanding the underlying personality type of a geriatrician and determining how to approach bullies and others in authority in the marketplace are discussed in the setting of real-world situations.
