Real Life I: Interactions
We have seen in the previous sections that a useful way of combining the principles of relativity and quantum theory is to introduce the concept of fields and describe particles as their quanta. So far, we have discussed the quantization of each of the fields separately and have also assumed that, when treated as individual fields, the Lagrangians are at most quadratic in the field variables.
