Abstract
Patient selection plays an important role in the appropriate utilization of SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging in order to maximize clinical impact. The indications and contraindications for specific patient populations with regard to myocardial perfusion imaging as well as appropriate stress modalities will be examined. Applications of the appropriate use criteria will also be presented and provide a basis for optimization of SPECT MPI use.
