Abstract
FORZA NEC is the main program for the digitization of the Italian Defense Land component, delivering the pillars of the digitized Italian land and amphibious Forces. The object of the program encompasses the development and procurement of high-technology system capabilities, including C2, Communications, ISTAR, M&S, UAV/UGV. The hardware and software components of Forza NEC systems should be networked and able to operate in unstructured, unsafe environment characterized by wide-range temperature, various terrains, and all weather conditions. This is particularly true for software components, which is playing a leading role in the modern military systems, determining its functionalities and networking features. Therefore, software for military systems must be characterized by the following: high reliability, high level of security, maintainability, user-friendly, standardization, modularity, reusing, upgradability.
