Abstract
This 33-year-old patient had breast augmentation in 2007 with round, high-profile, smooth silicone gel implants placed in partial subpectoral pockets. Eight months postoperatively, there was breast asymmetry with right breast higher than the left.
The plan was to place the implants into subglandular pockets. The Group discussed the asymmetry and possible ultrasound to detect seroma, place implants in subglandular pockets, insert smaller implants, consider vertical breast lift and lower the inframammary fold. There was a discussion on the use of medications for capsule contracture. Revision surgery was performed and the left implant had obvious silicone gel adherent to the outside of the shell with a small hole visible on compressing the implant. Slightly larger implants were placed in subglandular pockets.
