Abstract
A state-space representation is one of the most popular methods for the description of dynamical systems, both in finite- and infinite-dimensional cases. This chapter is intended to provide a short discussion about this kind of mathematical description for the considered \(2\times 2\) hyperbolic systems of balance laws with boundary inputs and pointwise observations.
