Abstract
You should have several basic kinds of suture available to you for wound closure including monofilament nonabsorbable, monofilament absorbable, and braided absorbable material. The following chapter will go through the different types of sutures, where they are best utilized, the sizing system, and the type and size of the needle. This chapter also addresses when to use staples, liquid tissue adhesives, or adhesive strips.
