Abstract
The main objectives of this paper consist in presentation of a concrete situations regarding to the traffic modeling in PTV Visum virtual environment. The methodology used consists in developing applications considering the urban mobility plans currently in progress, in the municipalities of Romania. Starting from the current state, it has been developed proposals for traffic optimization which were analyzed in PTV Visum software. The results are based on the restructuring of some road infrastructure elements, with effects on the fluidity of vehicle traffic and hence to reduce the negative effects related to this issue. The work ends with a series of observations on the modeling requirements imposed by the development of urban mobility plans, highlighting the usefulness of carrying out specific applications, in the PTV Visum virtual modeling environment.
