Abstract
The noun-locative combination is restricted by the semantic properties of nouns, which has been discussed by some scholars. However, these discussions are not adequate and have problems. This paper points out the problems and argues that spatiality, nature, state and temporality of nouns have an important influence on the noun-locative combination. Specifically, the combination ability between spatial nouns and spatial locatives is strong; nouns with strong temporality and state can be easily combined with temporal locatives; nouns with strong nature cannot be combined with spatial and temporal locatives.
