Global Marketing Strategy

Part of the book series: Management for Professionals ((MANAGPROF))

Abstract

Supply chains that stretch over different countries on different continents are one of the defining characteristics of globalization. At its core, global supply chain management comprises logistics, purchasing (sourcing), operations and marketing channels. This chapter starts by illustrating the key benefits of global supply chain management. This is followed by a look at the main factors that drive inbound and outbound sourcing and logistics decisions. Next, the focus is put on the design and management of global marketing channels, and finally on some important trends in international supply chain and distribution channels.
