Abstract

Cholangiocarcinoma is an uncommon cancer that arises from the intrahepatic and extrahepatic portions of the biliary system. Since it is often difficult to diagnose and frequently presents at a late stage, it carries a bad prognosis. Despite the recent advancement of multidisciplinary approaches, surgical resection remains the only potential curative treatment. We describe the current perioperative and surgical management of cholangiocarcinoma at our institution with recent supportive evidence.
