Abstract
The dpi/sfg methodology is a systematic analysis procedure for analog electronic circuits. It provides a process that interprets or maps a circuit onto a flow graph without the use of small signal equivalent circuits, followed by graph algebra and graph manipulations and transformations to generate input/output transfer relations. The flow graph reflects the circuit topology so that many circuits map onto the same flow graph form—the block contents are different reflecting the particular circuit properties. This similarity of form allows us to generalize terminology and to create template flow graphs and transfer function responses. Additionally, we are then able to extend the general approach to include fully embedded linear blocks, both classic and blocks that transform a signal into another domain, into the methodology.
