Abstract

This chapter identifies the institutions of ECOWAS and examines, in detail, the structures, powers, responsibilities, functions and other ancillary or unique features that typify them. Also, it treats extensively the jurisdiction and procedure of the Community Court of Justice for the benefit of lawyers and interested persons who may want to engage the services of the Court. Nonetheless, the chapter opens with a brief primer on the real institutional state of some of the organs of the Community.
