Abstract
This chapter focuses on ambiguity, i.e. where a word or phrase has more than one possible interpretation. The first seven subsections in this chapter give some general ideas on how to avoid ambiguity. The other subsections highlight particular grammar and vocabulary misusages that can lead to ambiguity. If you read nothing else in this chapter, ensure that you read 6.2 and 6.3 on the dangers of pronouns and synonyms.
